Steps
(30 min class)
|
- Emphasis on swimmers age 4-5
- Must be: comfortable putting face underwater, push off independently and kick to a coach several feet away, comfortable floating on their back
- NOT A LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM for swimmers who do not know how to blow bubbles, cannot put their face in the water, or who cannot push off a wall/step independently

- Must: push off independently and kick to a coach several feet away, be comfortable swimming with male/female instructors
- Should know how to perform big arms and be comfortable rolling to their backs

Lanes 1-4 Ability
(60 min class)
|
Swimmers age 8&U. Lanes 1-4 are divided by ability, not age.
Must be:
- Safe in shallow and deep water
- Able to complete multiple 25s across the swimming pool
- Comfortable swimming with male/female instructors

- Lane 1 Ability: focuses on teaching freestyle side breathers and backstroke; breaststroke kick may be introduced. Must be able to swim across with minimal-no assistance.

- Lane 2 Ability: swimmers proficient in freestyle side breathing and backstroke. Both breaststroke and butterfly are taught.

- Lane 3 Ability: swimmers who have demonstrated a consistently legal breaststroke kick, with the goal of getting the swimmer legal in breast and fly.

- Lane 4 Ability: swimmers proficient in all four strokes who are ready for extra technique work, including pull outs, underwater kicking, and breath control.
|
